It’s Coming…

Updated on

WPDesigner’s next phase is coming! Preview it.

Here’s the first draft and some variations. I magnified it for a closer look. After the overall layout, I worked on structuring the main column. Although I didn’t document the whole process, I do have several screen captures of the black and white mockup.

This design is heavily inspired by designs of sites like Expression Engine and Arstechnica. I also couldn’t have done it without the FamFamFam icon set, which tied all the details together. Before I forget, thanks to Nick (NDesign Studio) for the magnifying glass (search) icon to pretty up the search form.

It’s not completely finished, but I’m glad that I was able to tie all the elements together and make this design my own. I especially like the overlapping navigation tabs. They’ll be hard to code but are definitely worth it.

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to launching Wpdesigner’s next phase and also excited about releasing future WordPress themes with this level of design quality and details.
