Someone tried to kill me during an argument, while I was eating dinner at the kitchen table. If it wasn’t for mom running toward the kitchen to stop him, I doubt that I’d be writing this right now. He said, “If I can give you life, then I can kill you.”

Respectfully and literally, I couldn’t get him off me. I wasn’t ready for that because I didn’t think he would go that far. Next time, the same thing will not recur. Surely, I will live longer than him.
